Cerulean Cave Guide

Cerulean Cave is Kanto’s postgame wilderness, a dangerous maze north of Cerulean where the strongest wild Pokemon and Mewtwo wait after the League.

Step inside

The cave north of Cerulean City is not for the main badge road. It opens only after you have become Champion, and it immediately feels like the region’s secret final place.

Explore the place

Bring Surf, strong balls, and a team that can handle high-level wild Pokémon. Search the floors for Full Restore, Max Elixir, Nugget, PP Up, Ultra Ball, Max Revive, Rare Candy, and hidden extras. The cave can hold powerful Pokémon such as Ditto, Kadabra, Rhydon, Chansey, and many more depending on floor and version.

Come back with a reason

Return when you are ready for Mewtwo deep inside. Cerulean Cave is the rare place where the reward is famous, but the whole walk there still feels dangerous enough to earn it.
