Union Cave 1F Guide

Union Cave is the first real Johto cave trip, sitting between Violet's south road and Azalea's story arc.

Step inside

Enter Union Cave from Route 32 and Johto immediately changes texture: stone floors, ladders, water you cannot fully use yet, and the promise of Route 33 and Azalea Town beyond the dark.

What to do inside

On 1F, battle Pokémaniac Larry, Hikers Russell and Daniel, and Firebreathers Bill and Ray. Pick up Great Ball, Potion, X Attack, and Awakening, then watch for Geodude, Sandshrew, Zubat, Rattata, Onix, Wooper, and Quagsire depending on where you explore.

Return with a reason

Return with Surf and stronger teams for deeper cave work, water encounters, fishing, and any trip that reconnects Violet, Azalea, and the Ruins side of southern Johto.
