Route 11
3 wild Pokémon across 1 encounter method. 10 trainer battles.
Route 11 Guide
Route 11 is Vermilion’s eastern training road, full of Engineers, Gamblers, grass, fishing, and the sleeping wall that blocks the coast.
Travel the road
East of Vermilion City, Route 11 looks like a simple road until the sleeping Snorlax turns it into a dead end. That makes it perfect for training before you go back and solve other parts of Kanto.
What to find
Clear the long row of Youngsters, Engineers, and Gamblers, search for the hidden Escape Rope, and check the gate upstairs if your Pokédex progress can earn aide rewards. Diglett's Cave nearby gives this route a second purpose: it is your return bridge to the early map.
Return with a reason
Return with the Poké Flute to wake Snorlax, with rods for fishing, or whenever Diglett’s Cave makes Vermilion the easiest way back to Route 2.
