Cerulean City Guide

Cerulean City is the northeastern Kanto hub, tying Misty, Nugget Bridge, the Power Plant problem, and the cape road to Bill together.

Arrive and look around

Cerulean pulls in three directions at once. Misty's Gym is in town, Route 24 and Route 25 climb north toward the cape, and Route 9 points east toward the Power Plant problem.

What to do here

Follow the machine-part trail through the Gym and the bridge, visit the cape when Misty's story points you there, and search the city water for the hidden Berserk Gene. The local fishing can turn up Goldeen, Seaking, and Magikarp, and the old cave rumors remind you how much Kanto has changed.

Return with a reason

Return when the Power Plant quest moves, when Misty's Gym is ready, or when you want a northeast Kanto base that reaches Saffron, Lavender, and the cape without much backtracking.

Ways To Move Around

Some parts of this map need a move, or only work one way.

Surf opens water paths here

Water tiles can become paths once you can Surf.

Bring a Surf user after earning Fog Badge if you want every shoreline path.

One-way ledges shape the route

These ledges let you jump down but not climb back up from the same spot.

Look before you hop if you are collecting items or avoiding trainers.
