National Park Guide

National Park is Johto's calm central green space, doubling as both a regular route detour and the Bug-Catching Contest venue.

Step inside

National Park is Johto taking a long breath between Goldenrod City and Ecruteak. Enter from Route 35 or Route 36 and the routes give way to benches, paths, contest grass, and people who actually seem to be spending the day there.

What to do inside

Battle Schoolboy Jack, Lass Krise, Pokéfan Beverly, and Pokéfan William, pick up Parlyz Heal and TM28, search for the hidden Full Heal, and talk to the woman with Persian for Quick Claw. The regular grass has Caterpie, Metapod, Pidgey, Sunkern, and Hoothoot, while the Bug-Catching Contest turns the park into a prize hunt.

Return with a reason

Return for the contest, midgame catches, phone rematches, or simply because the park is one of Johto's best places to pause between larger adventures.
