Pewter City is the rocky northern Kanto stop that anchors Brock, the road to Mount Moon, and the western half of Kanto's early routes.
Pewter still feels like stone and mountain air. The Museum is closed, but Brock's Gym, the Mart, the Pokémon Center, and the road into Route 3 make the city the natural staging point before Mount Moon country.
Challenge Brock, talk to the townspeople about Clefairy and the old Johto memories, and pick the nearby Ice Berry and Mint Berry trees. The eastern exit sends you toward Route 3 and Mount Moon, while the south road returns to Viridian through Route 2.
Return when you want Brock's badge, the Mount Moon corridor, or a sturdy western Kanto rest stop before moving east toward Cerulean.
