Route 6 is the southern half of the Cerulean-to-Vermilion detour, with trainer pairs, grass, water, and the first glimpse of Vermilion’s harbor road.
Route 6 brings you out of the underground path and down toward Vermilion City. The gate to Saffron is still a problem, so the route asks you to battle through the grass-side trainers and accept the longer way around.
Fight the Bug Catchers and Junior Trainers for steady midgame experience before the S.S. Anne and Lt. Surge. The grass mirrors Route 5’s hunting value, and the water near Vermilion becomes useful once fishing rods make the harbor edge worth checking.
Return when the Saffron guard lets you through, when you want the underground connection, or when Vermilion’s Gym and ship errands pull you back through the south road.
