Saffron City Guide
Saffron City is Kanto’s golden crossroads, held hostage by Team Rocket until Silph Co is cleared and the city’s two Fighting- and Psychic-shaped tests reopen.
Arrive and look around
Saffron should feel grand: four gates, a central road grid, Silph’s huge tower, Sabrina’s Gym, the Fighting Dojo, Copycat’s house, and Mr. Psychic tucked into the city. When you first arrive, Rocket guards make the shine feel tense instead of welcoming.
What to do here
Bring a drink from Celadon to pass the gates, then treat Silph Co 1F as the city’s heart. Clear the tower, rescue the president, and claim the Master Ball. After Rocket leaves, challenge the Fighting Dojo for Hitmonlee or Hitmonchan, visit Mr. Psychic for TM29, and prepare for Sabrina’s warp-room Gym, the Marsh Badge, and TM46.
Come back with a reason
Return whenever you need the middle of Kanto. Saffron links Celadon, Lavender, Cerulean, and Vermilion, and once Rocket is gone it becomes the easiest city to use as a crossroads rather than an obstacle.
