Route 36 Guide
Route 36 is the blocked crossroads route, famous for Sudowoodo and for tying the park, Ruins of Alph, and Ecruteak side together.
Travel the route
Route 36 is a crossroads pretending to be blocked forever. It touches Violet City, National Park, Ruins Of Alph Outside, and Route 37, but the strange tree makes you earn that freedom.
What to find
Use the SquirtBottle from Goldenrod to wake Sudowoodo, then catch it or defeat it. Battle Schoolboy Alan and Psychic Mark, pick the Ice Berry, and talk to the Rock Smash man for TM08 after the tree is gone. The nearby gift of Hard Stone makes the route worth revisiting even after the obstacle becomes memory.
Return with a reason
Return when you want the fastest link between Violet, Ecruteak, the Park, and the Ruins, or when the cleared crossroads lets Johto fold neatly back on itself.
