Pallet Town Guide

Pallet Town is Kanto's calm southern doorstep, with [Oak's Lab]({location:oaks-lab}), the road to [Route 1]({location:route-1}), and Red's quiet homecoming on the shore.

Arrive and look around

Pallet is almost startling after Johto: two quiet houses, the sea below, Oak's Lab still busy with research, and Route 1 running north toward Viridian. Take a slow lap. Kanto starts here again, but this time you arrive as a champion instead of a beginner.

What to do here

Visit Oak's Lab for Oak's postgame welcome and any progress comments tied to your Pokédex. Then decide which edge of town you want: walk north into Route 1 and Viridian City, or surf south into Route 21 for the sea road toward Cinnabar.

Return with a reason

Return when you want the quietest Kanto checkpoint on the map. Pallet is especially useful when you are linking Viridian, Cinnabar, and the south coast, or when a visit to Oak makes the long postgame feel anchored again.
