Route 1 Guide

Route 1 is the short, simple road between Pallet Town and Viridian City.

Travel the route

Route 1 is almost funny after Johto: the famous first road is still tiny, still green, and still the cleanest walk between Pallet Town and Viridian City. The difference is that now the trainers know you are not a beginner.

What to find

Battle Schoolboy Danny and Cooltrainer Quinn, pick the Bitter Berry, and watch the grass change with the clock: Pidgey, Rattata, Sentret, Furret, and Hoothoot all keep the old road alive. The ledges still make the southbound return fast.

Return with a reason

Return whenever Pallet and Viridian need to feel connected again, or when you want one of Kanto's simplest postgame roads with just enough trainer bite to keep it awake.
